England Under-21s head coach Lee Carsley has committed his future to the Young Lions by signing a new contract that will see him at the helm until the end of the 2027 European Championship.
The 51 year old stepped up as the interim manager for the senior squad last summer after Gareth Southgate's exit, leading the team to five victories and one defeat in six Nations League fixtures.
Despite speculation linking Carsley with the full-time England job prior to Thomas Tuchel taking the reins, he has returned to his role with the U21s as they gear up for the 2025 Euros in Slovakia.

Carsley expressed his enthusiasm about the extension: "I'm delighted to extend my time with the FA," adding, "It's a privilege to have the opportunity to work with a young, talented group and help develop them on the international stage."
He also emphasised the immediate focus on the upcoming UEFA U21 Euro in Slovakia, aiming to replicate the success of Dave Sexton's squads from the '80s: "While the future is exciting, our immediate priority is this summer's UEFA U21 Euro in Slovakia as we attempt to emulate the achievement of Dave Sexton's teams in 1982 and 1984."
The Young Lions kick off their campaign against Czechia on Thursday, June 12, with subsequent Group B matches against Slovenia and Germany lined up.
Carsley is expected to announce his final squad selection for the tournament this Friday.
