A poor man burdened by electricity bills is thanking PM Modi wholeheartedly today. Ramakant Sinha, a resident of Gariaband district, has seen a significant change in his life. The reason for this change is the "PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana."
Ramakant Sinha says, "Under this scheme, I installed solar panels on the roof of my house. This has provided me with significant relief on my electricity bills. Previously, I had to pay 2,000 to 3,000 rupees per month, but now my bill is zero. And I can use the savings for other important needs. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating this wonderful scheme."
What is the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
The objective of this scheme is to provide free electricity to homes by installing rooftop solar systems and empowering them to generate their own electricity. Under this scheme, solar power systems up to 3 kilowatts are subsidized by up to 60%, which can provide up to 300 units of free electricity per month. Beneficiaries are using their savings for other purposes and are also getting relief from power cuts.
Clean energy with lower bills
This scheme makes solar energy accessible, affordable, and effective for millions of homes. One million installations have been completed, and the scheme is on track to achieve its goal of 10 million solar-powered homes. By providing subsidies and an organized digital application process, this program ensures that all households in cities and villages can adopt clean energy with lower bills.
