Whatsapp New Feature: WhatsApp has made a big change regarding group voice chat. Earlier this feature was limited to large groups only, but now it is available for small groups as well. That is, now even if there are only 3-4 people in your group, you can still start a voice chat.
What is the new update?
WhatsApp is calling this feature "Audio Hangout". This means that now you can easily start an audio conversation in small groups without calling - just like a small personal podcast.
How will it work?
When you start a group voice chat, the rest of the group members will not get any ring like a call. They will only get notifications, and they can join or leave whenever they want. This process works seamlessly. This voice chat is pinned at the bottom of the WhatsApp chat screen, giving you quick access to call controls. Also, new members who join the group later can see and join this voice chat.
How to start
To start this voice chat, go to the bottom of the group chat and swipe up from the chat box. Hold for a few seconds, and the voice chat will be activated.
Why did WhatsApp start this feature now?
The company has not given any specific reason for this, but it has definitely said that like other chats and calls, voice chats will also be protected by end-to-end encryption. Such features were already available on platforms like Clubhouse and X Space, and now WhatsApp has also taken a step towards giving this experience to the users. If you also want to chat with your friends or team without the hassle of calling, then this feature of WhatsApp can be very useful for you.
