The nineteenth season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, has been a whirlwind of shifting loyalties, emotional outbursts, and dramatic confrontations. Among those drawing significant attention is singer-composer Amaal Mallik, whose journey on the show has been marked by allegations of favoritism, with many claiming that Salman Khan has been unduly supportive of him. Addressing these speculations, veteran music director Daboo Mallik—Amaal’s father—clarified the situation in a conversation with News18 Showsha, dismissing all claims of preferential treatment.
Daboo Mallik remarked that Amaal’s growing visibility on the show and the buzz surrounding him have created a false perception that the entire setup is designed to promote him. He emphasized that a large-scale production such as Bigg Boss prioritizes its overall success and entertainment value rather than advancing the interests of a single contestant. He further pointed out that the Mallik family’s last professional collaboration with Salman Khan and his family dates back to 2015–2016, when they contributed to the music of Main Hoon Hero and Jai Ho.
Explaining further, Daboo reasoned that if Salman Khan had indeed been biased towards Amaal, the family would have been consistently involved in every film project featuring the superstar. Instead, he described them as humble musicians who stand with deep respect before the stature of Salman Khan and his family.
"Do you think such a multi-crore setup will pick up just one person and be biased towards him? They will be biased towards the show and what will make it successful. If there was a support which was completely biased and personal, then they would have been working in every Salman Khan film, so that’s not a possibility, " he explained.
The composer also acknowledged that the Khan family had once extended vital support to him during difficult times, both financially and professionally. He recalled that Sohail Khan had entrusted him with composing the music for the 2009 film Kisaan at a time when he was struggling in his career.
Daboo expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying the Khans’ generosity revived his spirits and livelihood. Their compassion, he added, had transformed not just his life but also the lives of many others. Although the family did not continuously collaborate with him afterward, Daboo admitted that he remains forever indebted to their kindness and humanity.
