Date and significance of Radha Ashtami 2025
According to the Panchang, the fast of Radha Ashtami 2025 will be observed on Friday, September 5. It is a religious belief that fasting on this day brings love, good luck, happiness, and peace. Radha Rani is considered the embodiment of devotion, love, and sacrifice, so remembering and worshiping her name on this day brings positive energy and happiness in life.
Things to keep in mind before starting the fast
1. Wake up before sunrise on the day of the fast.
2. Wear clean clothes after bathing.
3. Take a pledge to fast.
4. Maintain sattvikta throughout the day, avoid anger and harsh words.
5. Do not consume grains and salt during the fast; take only fruits.
Worship method of Radha Ashtami fast
1. Cleaning the house – First of all, clean the place of worship thoroughly and sprinkle Ganga water.
2. Establishment of Chowki – Spread a yellow cloth and install the idol or photo of Radha Rani on it.
3. Kalash Sthapana – Fill water in an earthen or copper urn, add mango leaves and coins to it, and place a coconut on top.
4. Abhishek – Bathe Radha Rani with Panchamrit, then wash with clean water.
5. Shringar and Puja – Offer sandalwood, flowers, incense, lamps, fruits, and sweets to Radha ji.
6. Shri Krishna Puja – Worship Shri Krishna along with Radha Rani and offer bhog with Tulsi leaves.
7. Aarti and Prasad – Perform aarti of Radha-Krishna and distribute prasad.
Mantras and recitation
Chanting Radha Rani’s mantra “Om Hreem Radhikaye Namah” during worship is considered very auspicious. Apart from this, you can also recite Shri Radha Stotra or Radha-Krishna bhajan. It is believed that this increases the feeling of peace and devotion in the mind.
