Agar (Madhya Pradesh): The third week of Sawan month started with heavy rainfall in Susner town under Agar Malwa region. It rained continuously from Sunday night to Monday morning, flooding the entire area.
The region received 7.10 inches of rain in the last 24 hours, bringing the total monsoon rainfall to 21.11 inches so far. This heavy downpour has severely affected life in both rural and urban areas.
Most rivers and drains in area have overflowed due to intense rainfall. Traffic movement has stopped on many rural roads, cutting off several villages from main roads. Agricultural fields are completely flooded and mud roads have become impossible to use. Lower areas of settlements are facing severe waterlogging problems.
The biggest danger was at culverts where strong water currents were flowing. Despite the risk, several people were seen crossing the culvert on Susner-Sadalpur road, putting their lives in danger.
When local administration learned about this, they immediately closed the Sadalpur-Shyampura culvert for public safety. A watchman was deployed at the spot and the road was sealed to prevent accidents.
All government and private schools in the district also remained closed on Monday due to heavy rain. Municipal Council teams and administration worked in waterlogged areas for relief operations. Severaltrees fell and power supply was disrupted in some places.

SDM Sarvesh Yadav gave necessary instructions to all departments and appealed to villagers not to crossflowing culverts under any circumstances.
4 inches recorded in Mahidpur
The area received four inches of rainfall in the last three days, bringing total monsoon rainfall from eight inches to nearly 12 inches. Rain continues to fall intermittently across the region.
Weather experts expect the rainfall figure to reach around 15 inches by the end of July. Earlier, there were concerns about low rainfall affecting the monsoon average by September. However, the recent good rainfall has improved the situation significantly.
