Saiyaara has taken the box office by storm. Fronted by newcomer Ahaan Panday and Big Girls Don’t Cry fame Aneet Padda, the romantic drama opened to a staggering ₹21.25 crore on its first day in India, breaking records for debutant-led films. Amid its strong run, the makers of Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son of Sardaar 2 have decided to postpone the release, just a few days before its theatrical release.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Delayed
Son of Sardaar 2, originally slated for a July 25 release, has now been pushed to August 1, where it will face a box office clash with Shazia Iqbal's Dhadak 2, featuring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Sharing an official announcement, the makers of Son Of Sardaar 2 wrote, "The laughter riot just got a new date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide."

Ajay Devgn's Film Dodges Competition
According to Bollywood Hungama, "Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara has taken a surprise gigantic opening on the day of its release, July 18. The reports of the film are extremely positive, and hence, it will do better on Saturday than Friday."

In such a scenario, having a big film like Son Of Sardaar 2 just a week later will not be good for the business for both films. Hence, Ajay Devgn, Jio Studios and others took the decision of moving a week ahead with their film’s release," added the source.
