Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): At the DISHA committee meeting in Vidisha, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan got angry about the seed distribution system.
Chouhan sought information about the distribution of seeds. When the officer concerned failed to provide information about soybean seeds, Chouhan was annoyed.
The officers keep away from doing any work and simply idle away their time, Chouhan said. If an officer cannot say the quantity of seeds the farmers had required, how will they benefit the farmers? he said.
He also expressed anger over the poor quality of soybean seeds. Chouhan sought a report on the storage system and details about the seed procurement process by the farmers.
The officers did not have any figures of seed procurement of the current season.
