A new series of DIY SOS is about to be launched. It will see Nick Knowles and the team return, with viewers set to see them help bring communities together and transform people's lives through various projects on the show.
The BBC show first aired in 1999 and later relaunched as DIY SOS: The Big Build in 2010. The most recent series was broadcast between May and June in 2022. Since then, a few special episodes of the show have been shown, like an EastEnders special that was broadcast in December 2023.
It was announced last year that DIY SOS would be returning and the BBC's schedule now confirms that it will be back from next month. A new series, said to consist of four episodes, is currently scheduled to launch on October 3.

There will also be a new BBC Children In Need special of DIY SOS shown later this year. The special, made in collaboration with Morning Live, is due to air in November during the annual fundraising initiative's appeal week.
The first episode of DIY SOS' new series is said to see the team visit Leicester to help seven-year-old Isla, who was born with a rare genetic condition. A synopsis states that she dreams of living more independently in her own home.
Nick and the team face "one of their biggest logistical and emotional challenges yet". It's teased that they tackle limited space and a long list of bespoke adaptations for the project, including the requirement for accessible furniture.
Last year, Nick confirmed that DIY SOS was coming back. In a post uploaded to Instagram in October, he shared a photo of himself and electrician Billy Byrne. Nick wrote: "@bbcdiysos is back! We’re looking for families from all over and especially keen to hear from people in Scotland and Northern Ireland. "
He has continued to keep fans updated on the show and in March this year announced that the new series was underway. Nick posted a selfie, that included colleagues like designer Gabrielle Blackman, as part of his update.
Nick wrote in the caption: "Just to let you know we are about a third of the way thru filming a brand new series of @bbcdiysos around the UK. Already we have built for some wonderful families in great communities with the help of an army of generous trades, suppliers and volunteers."
He added: "There's old faces (especially mine) and new and a huge rise in community spirit everywhere. Keep an eye out for us coming to your area and news on when the series will be broadcast. I can tell you now though - it's going to be epic and emotional."
Fans shared their excitement at the time over the show's return. One wrote in the comments section: "Fantastic can't wait." Another said in their response to Nick: "Love this show." A third said: "I'll look forward to watching." Whilst another replied to the post: "That is great news can't wait."
DIY SOS returns at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on October 3. The new Children In Need special is due to air during the appeal week in November.
