Three people suffered gunshot wounds after a shooting on London's streets in broad daylight this afternoon, as members of the public were urged to stay away from the scene.
Police and paramedics in an air ambulance, as well as a road vehicle, were called to reports of a shooting on Upton Lane in Forest Gate, London. Three people suffered injuries in the incident, with one rushed to a major trauma centre "as a priority". Members of the public have been urged to avoid the area for the time being as the situation in east London continues.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.51pm today (29 April) to reports of a shooting on Upton Lane, E7. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic from our tactical response unit and an incident response officer.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated three patients at the scene.
"We took one person to a major trauma centre by road as a priority and the other two patients to hospital.”
