Griddy removed from EA FC 26 – but complete this FC 25 objective to use it in new game

After three years in the game, EA Sports is removing the Griddy celebration in EA FC 26, but there's a way you can ensure you're one of the lucky few who can still use it in EA FC 26.

The EA FC 25 cycle is coming to an end, with EA FC 26 set for a worldwide release on Friday, September 26, while players with EA FC 26 early access can play the latest EA Sports FC instalment from Friday, September 19. Now, all the attention is currently on the new game, but a recent announcement by EA Sports may just get people back on EA FC 25 for a limited time.

Although toxic, the Griddy celebration is by far one of the most popular celebrations to use in EA FC 25. Since its introduction in FIFA 23, and has been the ultimate way to gloat on your opponent after scoring a goal; in EA FC 26, this will no longer be the case, with EA confirming the Griddy celebration will not be available to use in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team through button input or on the transfer market.

But, there's currently an Objective available to complete in EA FC 25 Ultimate Team called 'Griddy to Glory', and the reward for completing the Objective is the ability to perform the Griddy in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team.

Here's how to unlock the Griddy celebration in EA FC 26.

Griddy celebration removed for EA FC 26

As part of EA's Pre-Season promo in EA FC 25, a host of Objectives are currently live in-game with EA FC 26 rewards, so you can start the new game with some packs already loaded up on your account. But EA has now released a never-before-seen Objective, allowing players to unlock a celebration for the upcoming game release.

EA confirmed the Griddy will be removed from EA FC 26 in a message that appears when you load up Ultimate Team in EA FC 25: "This is your rare chance to earn the Griddy in FC 26 as a unique celebration item — it will not be performable through button input like in FC 25 and not obtainable as a tradable option on the market.

"All carryover rewards must be redeemed by logging in to Football Ultimate Team in EA SPORTS FC 26 with the same EA Account and platform family used to earn them in FC 25."

How to unlock the Griddy celebration for EA FC 26

To earn the Griddy celebration, you must complete the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Completionist Objective, which requires you to complete the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Objective five times.

These are the requirements to complete the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Objective:

• Win three matches in the Griddy to Glory Cup
• Play six matches in the Griddy to Glory Cup

This means, to unlock the Griddy celebration, you must play at least six games in the Griddy to Glory Cup for five days. If you manage to win three of those six games each day, the minimum number of games required to complete the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Completionist Objective would be 30.

These are the squad requirements for the Griddy to Glory Cup:

• Golds only
• Common and Rare Players: Exactly 18
• 75 and Higher OVR Players: Exactly 18

There is no game limit in the Griddy to Glory Cup, but don't worry! The Objective expires on Wednesday, September 10, so you have plenty of time to complete the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Objective five times.

As well as the Griddy Celebration for EA FC 26, you will also earn a 99 OVR Futties Icon Ronaldinho in EA FC 25 for completing the Griddy to Glory Daily Play Completionist Objective, while you will also earn five player picks containing 10 99-rated players from Futties, Greats of the Game and Path to Glory, with five of these players able to be selected each time.
