When you go on holiday and wear silver jewellery in the pool, no matter how expensive the brand you're wearing is, it will probably tarnish. Unless you have a silver cloth handy, this can cause your sterling silver to look dull the whole time you're away, and lead to a lacklustre effect, rather than helping your outfitsto pop.
That's why, when I went away toLake Garda this year, I decided to ditch my Tiffany jewellery and try something new - tarnish-free stainless steel jewellery from the social media sensation brand Bohomoon. I've always been a dedicated sterling silver or gold girl, refusing to try anything else, convinced it would turn my skin green and would make me itch incessantly.
But this jewellery not only packs a punch, looks stunning, and has earned me tonnes of compliments – it's also so much cheaper than many other brands and is made out of stainless steel.
I can't lie, I was still apprehensive putting the necklaces on for the first time. I opted for the '333' angel numbers necklace and the 'spell' necklace as a gorgeous combo, and I was expecting to be green the morning after.
But as I didn't have an allergic reaction and didn't turn a bizarre shade of green, I was sold pretty quickly.
The real test, however, came when I went away and went into the pool.
I love spending my time in the pool, the sea, or in this case, in the lake. Any body of water I simply need to be in ASAP, and this can often wreak havoc on my jewellery.
But not this time. I happily splashed around safe in the knowledge the steel jewellery had my back, and looked so good at the same time. And it compliments every single outfit you could imagine, and there's something for everyone with every style - from witchy, to coquette, to timeless.
On their website, Bohomoon states: "If you're feeling the heat, don't sweat it. Our jewellery can be worn every day, get wet, and it won't tarnish or turn your fingers green."
They also use "PVD plated stainless steel," which "means you never have to remove your Bohomoon jewels" and is suitable to be worn "in the pool, in the shower or even at the beach".
Bohomoon also share their jewellery is "more sustainable," as it's made to never fade, meaning you won't have to replace it as much as things that turn you green (which let's be honest, is icky).
Founder Katie also said she likes to do "regular sales" to make the products as affordable as possible, and right now, the necklaces I have are just £10 each, with many more offers to be found on their website.
