Trump is not agreeing, then said- India-Pak war was stopped by threatening to stop trade

Trump has repeatedly said that he helped stop the fighting between India and Pakistan. However, India has consistently said that the agreement to end the conflict with Pakistan was reached after direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations of the two armies.

Even after India's blunt rebuke, US President Donald Trump is not refraining from taking credit. Trump on Friday reiterated his claim that he had prevented a war between the two countries by asking his administration officials to cancel all deals with India and Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that we did some great work with India and Pakistan. Perhaps it was moving towards a nuclear attack. We did a lot of work. I don't know if there has ever been a president who has done more work than this.

Threatened to stop business

Trump once again reiterated his claim that he had told both countries that the US would not 'do business' with Delhi and Islamabad and thus he had prevented a war between India and Pakistan. According to him, this could have turned into a nuclear attack.

All deals between India and Pakistan cancelled

Trump said that 'a big war was going to happen in Serbia, Kosovo. I said you also fight a war, there will be no trade with America. The same happened with India and Pakistan. I was talking to both of them and I told (Finance Minister) Scott (Bessant), I told (Commerce Minister) Howard (Lutnick) to cancel all deals with India and Pakistan. They are not doing business with us because they are fighting a war.

Use of nuclear weapons

Trump said that both the countries also called us and said 'what should we do?' I said, 'Look, you want to do business with America. This is great, but you want to use nuclear weapons on each other. We will not let this happen.' Trump said that and they both agreed that both have good leaders, so we did a lot.

Close to a major deal with India

He said that I think we are going to reach an agreement with some big countries like India, under which we will have the right to go there and do business. Right now it is banned. You cannot go there. You cannot even think about it. We are trying to completely eliminate trade barriers. Trump also talked about trade with China.
