Antiques Road Trip expert rages 'I'm not having it' as 'rule break' sparks huge loss

Danny Sebastian exclaimed "I'm not having it" after an eleventh-hour bidder swooped in during a thrilling instalment of as expert Irita Marriott and Danny scoured Oxfordshire for hidden gems. With a budget of £200 apiece, the antique aficionados each chose five items from local establishments.

Irita had been leading the charge in the best-of-five series, coming off the back of two consecutive victories. In a previous episode, Danny was fired up to triumph: "I'm going all out now, no mucking about." Yet, his animated spirit was dampened at Morley Auctioneers where expectations of a profit were dashed with his wooden chair failing to ignite bidding interest. His reaction was firm: "I'm not taking that - that was worth £60 all day." Irita concurred: "That deserved to make 60, 70 quid, it really did", reports Liverpool Echo.

However, fortunes didn't swing in Danny's favour, whereas Irita's acquisitions garnered a staggering combined surplus of £287.10. Notably, she snapped up a Charles Horner pendant necklace for a mere £25, which later fetched an impressive £170.

A disheartened Danny could only utter: "Still going", as the bids escalated further. He was caught off-guard when a last-second bid matched the £170 mark just as the auctioneer concluded the sale.

Incensed, Danny protested: "The hammer's gone down- too late!"

Nevertheless, the bid stood, leaving Danny incensed. With marked irritation, he declared: "I'm not having it!" Meanwhile, Irita basked in her success, quipping: "That was pretty good wasn't it- but painful for you!"

Irita's streak of fortune showed no signs of waning as she raked in a staggering £195 profit from a brass letter rack, leaving her fellow antique aficionado astounded. In an exchange with Danny, who was visibly taken aback by the outcome, Irita couldn't help but enquire: "Are you okay Danny?" despite his own decent return of £58.40.

Danny confessed: "You've been very very lucky today", acknowledging his success which nonetheless pales in comparison to Irita's commanding victory. As they headed into the final two episodes of this week's best-of-five series, Irita solidified her lead at 3-0.

The competition heated up, but beyond the rivalry, all profits from the week were generously donated to Children in Need.
