It's been a busy summer in terms of incomings for Arsenal who could be set to introduce one more player while pulling the trigger on several departures today. The summer transfer window ends this evening at 7pm with deadline day usually filled with clubs eagerly clinching arrivals and exits with Mikel Arteta's side no different.
The north London side have already spent close to £250million on Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Their spending is likely not to stop there as they target defensive reinforcements in the likelihood that several fringe players leave the club on loan. The Gunners' sporting director, Andrea Berta, will certainly a busy man with the club potentially closing as many as four deals today as the clock continues to tick ahead of tonight's deadline.
Piero HincapieThe Bayer Leverkusen defender is likely to be Arsenal's sole incoming today with the two clubs having reportedly agreed on an initial loan for the Ecuadorian with an option to make it a permanent transfer for £46m next season. Hincapie - who can play as both a centre back and left back - was an unused substitute in Leverkusen's 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The 23-year-old will soon follow the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah, Granit Xhaka, Amine Adli and Odilon Kossounou who've departed the Bundesliga outfit this summer. Since joining Leverkusen in 2021, Hincapie has made 166 appearances in all competitions for the club and was a key part of their league title triumph in the 2023/24 campaign.
Jakub KiwiorThe likely arrival of Hincapie will come on the back of Jakub Kiwior's departure to Porto. The Poland international has exclusively played a back-up role since signing for the Gunners in January 2023 but a desire for first team football means he'll end his association with Arsenal.
Kiwior, 25, reportedly had interest from clubs in England and Italy, where he previously played with Spezia, but it's the Portuguese giants who've seemed to won the race for the defender. The Pole is set to head to Portugal on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer for £23m, according to A Bola.
The Ukraine international has been absent from Arsenal's first three Premier League matchday squads as speculation surrounding the versatile player has been rife. Zinchenko was linked with Fenerbahce but a move may not come to fruition following the departure of manager Jose Mourinho.
The 28-year-old is now subject of a potential transfer to Ligue 1 side Marseille but the French outfit face difficulty in clinching a move for the left-back given his hefty wages, according to The Athletic. With Zinchenko heading into the final 12 months of his contract, Arsenal will surely be hoping to secure a transfer fee for him.
Fabio VieiraThe Portuguese playmaker has only played 49 games for the club since signing in 2022 and went out on loan to former club Porto last season. Having never truly threatened to become a starting player for Arteta, the 25-year-old looks set for another temporary stint away from London with a number of clubs reportedly interested in his services.
Bundesliga side Stuttgart are said to be the frontrunners for his signature who'll be looking for attacking additions following the £65m sale of Nick Woltemade to Newcastle this past weekend.
