Indiana Fever star has taken the world of by storm, and that is being reflected by the ticket prices to watch her. After enjoying a winter break which involved rest and media duties, the 23-year-old is hoping to enjoy a strong pre-season to ensure she is in the best possible shape for the upcoming campaign.
Clark rose from the NCAA Championship to the WNBA in a matter of weeks last year, and the whirlwind of 2024 prompted her to reject an equity stake in Unrivaled in the offseason so she can reset mentally and physically instead.
Clark returned to the court on Sunday at Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena in an exhibition match against the Brazil National team. Indiana Fever were victorious on the night, securing a 108-44 success which the squad will take plenty of confidence from.
Fans were also treated to a brilliant spectacle - which will be a relief to those who forked out big money to be in attendance. According to sports ticket site VividSeats, tickets for the clash were available to purchase for £504 ($670), an enormous hike in comparison to other sides' pre-season matches.
The tickets available for resale are the highest on record for any WNBA game since 2015, with Clark's influence clear to see.
Just under 15,000 travelled to watch Indiana Fever kickstart their preparations, with the majority of those supporters wearing Hawkeyes or Fever shirts with Clark and the No. 22 printed on the back.
Those fans were not left disappointed by Clark's display either, with the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year making a sensational 36-foot three-pointer to send the crowd into a frenzy - replicating the shot which saw her break the NCAA women's basketball career-scoring record last season.
The shot came with just 26.1 seconds left in the third quarter, with Clark then sitting out the final quarter as she continues to recover from a lower leg injury which ruled her out of Saturday's match against Washington Mystics. She marked her return with 16 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds - and did not shy away from talking about her remarkable three-pointer after the match.
Clark laughed: "I don't know if I shoot 36-footers every day, but 30-plus for sure. It was just kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing. You don't always realize where you are."
