Bryan Mbeumo will hope that he is starting to see light at the end of the tunnel that has been Manchester United's pursuit of his signature. The Red Devils have reportedly sent Brentford a third bid worth £65million plus £5m in add-ons, which meets their demands and is, therefore, expected to be accepted.
Mbeumo would naturally be delighted to complete his switch in time for an attractive pre-season tour of the United States. Six months have passed since he communicated his desire to join Ruben Amorim's rebuild, snubbing interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
And United will be able to offer the 25-year-old forward a dream welcome present to sweeten his arrival, courtesy of future team-mate Diogo Dalot.
Mbeumo has worn the No. 19 shirt across his six years at Brentford, and for that reason, that is his most likely preference once he lands at Old Trafford.
The No. 19 shirt has been vacant since Raphael Varane left the club as a free agent last summer, and it could soon have Mbeumo's name on it.
However, the Cameroon international is spoilt for choice. He recently switched from being his country's No. 19 to their No. 20.

Should that suggest that he would rather don that shirt at United, that option is available to him after Dalot's recent change.
Upon his return to Carrington for pre-season, it was announced that the Portuguese right-back had ditched the No. 20 shirt he had worn since his 2018 arrival from Porto.
Dalot is now the owner of the No. 2 shirt left behind by Victor Lindelof after the centre-back's contract expired earlier this summer.
It leaves Mbeumo with two attractive choices as he prepares to finally complete his blockbuster transfer to United.

Mbeumo is set to follow Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon through the door as Amorim's third first-team recruit of the summer.
United's spending will skyrocket to around £130m, leaving any further incomings heavily dependent on player sales.
Cunha has inherited Marcus Rashford's No. 10 shirt ahead of his departure. Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are also in the shop window.
Amorim is believed to want a new striker, midfielder and wing-back, should his budget allow.
