Wimbledon LIVE: BBC commentator in tears as McEnroe calls for player to never return

Wimbledon got off to a cracking start on day one with several fantastic storylines developing. A number of big upsets took place and there was another one at the start of day two. Jessica Pegula, the third seed, was sensationally dumped out by Italian youngster Elisabetta Cocciaretto.

Another huge shock arrived in the evening as Coco Gauff fell in straight sets at the hands of Dayana Yastremska. There was no such misfortune for Jack Draper, who breezed into the second round after Sebastian Baez was forced to retire through injury. Dan Evans and Jack Pinnington Jones also secured victories on another brilliant day for the British contingent at SW19.
