It's not unheard of that certain jobs around the house can get expensive. And it's quite normal for homeowners to be quoted £3,000 on basic garden tidy ups, if not more.
Now one woman has been left utterly speechless after a kind stranger surprised her with garden help. In a post on TikTok, user @gardenyardzmowing1982, who boasts 32,000 followers, revealed the incredible transformation.
The video starts with the homeowner answering the door to the gardener named Mike where he asked her how she liked the makeover in her outdoor space.
She then replied: "Oh I love it. Oh that's brilliant, thank you so much."
Seconds later the woman wasted no time in informing Mike that she's come across some "silly quotes" on the basic gardening job.
She added: "I've had so many quotes, thousands and £2,000 but I'm chuffed with that."
While Mike started cracking on with the job, the biggest surprise was the price tag - which was free.
The clip begins with an overgrown garden with weeds growing on the side and an outdoor space desperate for some much needed attention.
Shortly after Mike turns his attention to the grass before giving the bush a trim.
Finally, he does a last lap of the lawn with the mower - making it look nice and fresh for the owner.
In his caption, he wrote: "Lady too much money for her garden gets free garden tidy-up."
People rushed to the comments section to praise the gardener as one said: "Freaking awesome."
While another added: "Great job as always Mike." And a third posted: "What a sweetheart."
This isn't the first time Mike offered to help a person out with their outdoor space. Previously, he came to rescue a pensioner with dementia who needed help.
He even reduced the £3,000 fee that had been quoted by another labourer. Instead, he got the job done for a more affordable £100.
Just like with his recent transformation, people in the comments section below the video thanked Garden Yardz Mowing for his kind gesture. One comment read: "Where do they get these prices, thank goodness for honest gardener like you."
On another occasion, he helped a 98-year-old woman in Manchester. The elderly lady was quoted £400 for the job - but the gardener agreed to do it for free.
