Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli has ignited excitement with the teaser poster of his upcoming epic, tentatively titled SSMB29, featuring superstar Mahesh Babu. Unveiled on August 9 with the intriguing hashtag #GlobeTrotter, the poster teases a grand, globe-spanning adventure filled with scale and mystery.
Rajamouli, known for redefining cinematic scale with Baahubali and RRR, expressed that traditional press conferences or stills cannot capture the sheer scale and immersive vision of his latest project. “The story and score of this film are so vast that mere pictures cannot do them justice,” he said, promising a never-before-seen online reveal in November to truly convey the film’s depth and essence.
While plot details are tightly guarded, the teaser poster suggests Mahesh Babu plays an adventurer on a global quest, wearing a locket with elements linked to Lord Shiva, hinting at mythological undertones. The film will be shot across multiple international locations, combining high-octane action with spiritual themes.
The ensemble cast includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, reportedly as the antagonist, and Priyanka Chopra as the female lead. Initially rumoured as a two-part release, the makers have opted for a single-film format.
Produced by KL Narayana, SSMB29 continues the creative partnership between Rajamouli and his father Vijayendra Prasad, the mastermind behind Baahubali and RRR. With shooting already underway, this film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated cinematic events of the decade.
