Silchar: The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with fervour across the Barak Valley and Dima Hasao, as hundreds gathered at the indoor stadium and local schools on Saturday morning to perform yoga asanas in a unified effort.
Organised by the National Ayush Mission, Assam, in collaboration with district administrations, the event underscored this year's global theme — "Yoga for One Earth, One Health." The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, yoga practitioners, officials, and members of the public, creating a serene atmosphere as participants synchronised their movements in a guided session.
Assam minister Kaushik Rai, serving as the chief guest in Silchar, emphasised yoga's holistic benefits.
