Kochi: Central Govt Officers Association (CGOA) on Sunday organized a Kochi Run to raise awareness against the increasing drug abuse, with the slogan ‘Life Itself is a Drug'. The event featured two categories — a 10-kilometre run and a 5-kilometre run.
The run began at Panampilly Nagar Govt Higher Secondary School, passed through Panampilly Nagar Walkway Park and proceeded onto KP Vallon Road, turning right toward Elamkulam before returning.
The 10-kilometre race was flagged off by city commissioner Putta Vimaladitya at 5.30am, while the 5-kilometre race began at 5.50am, flagged off by Kochi customs commissioner Gurkaran Singh Bains. Prior to the flag-off, CGOA president S Ananthanarayanan administered an anti-drug pledge to over a thousand participants.
Wheelchair-bound participants also took part in the run.
