Nagpur: The Kalamna Market was rocked by a murder on Saturday evening when Ravi Waghmare, a driver, was brutally stabbed to death. The murder happened within the bustling market, a few metres from the Kalamna police station. Waghmare succumbed to his injuries at the spot.
Police sources said that Waghmare had no criminal record, though a non-cognizable offence was registered against him in 2018. DCP Niketan Kadam said that suspects, believed to be Waghmare's former friends, have been identified, but no arrests were made. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive may be linked to sudden provocation. An offence was registered against unidentified assailants at Kalamna police station, and a manhunt is underway.
