Bokaro: A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches in the town administration department of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) here on Tuesday. According to sources, the ED is examining records related to land allotment and has begun questioning senior BSL officials. Several documents have been scanned for investigation.

Simultaneously, the ED also raided the residence of one Mahesh Nagia in Rana Pratap Nagar of Chas block. Nagia is reportedly involved in real estate and paint businesses.

Earlier on April 22, ED raided several places in Ranchi and Bokaro districts in Jharkhand and one district in Bihar in connection with a major forest land scam and the subsequent money laundering case. Sources said during last month's raid, the agency searched the office of the Bokaro district forest officer as well as the office of the additional collector. Based on the evidence found, a team of the agency raided BSL's town administration department on Tuesday.

Sources said the action was taken on suspicion of a scam involving 103-acre land in Tetulia Mouja.

BSL's chief of communications Manikant Dhan refused to comment on the raids.
