Lord Brahma cursed Lord Shiva and in order to get free from this curse, Lord Vishnu advised him to observe Varuthini Ekadashi Vrat. He did exactly the same as suggested by Lord Vishnu and got free from this curse so it is believed that anyone, who thinks they are suffering from any type of curse related to current birth or past birth or they think they have done something wrong to someone knowingly or unknowingly, they must keep fast on this Ekadashi with devotion and seek forgiveness from Lord Vishnu to get relieved from the curse. It is also believed that the devotees who observe fast on this day with great dedication, Lord Vishnu bestow them with the fruits, which they get from strict penance.
Varuthini Ekadashi 2025: Puja Rituals
Get up early morning and take a holy bath after that. Clean the house and in particular, the puja room, where followers wish to worship. Take an idol of Lord Vishnu and place it on an altar and along with that, they can place , Laddoo Gopal idol, Lord Krishna and Shree Yantra that represents Goddess Laxmi. Decorate them with clothes and flowers. Apply chandan tilak on their forehead and light a diya with desi ghee. Offer fruits, Tulsi Patra, homemade sweets and panchamrit that you have prepared for the puja.
To obtain Lord Vishnu's blessings, recite Vishnu Sahasranama and recite other mantras. The following day, during parana time, the fast is broken. Fruits, dairy products, and fried potatoes with curd are examples of Sattvik cuisine that can be consumed by those who are unable to follow a rigid fast.
