NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to newly re-elected Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese . He congratulated Albanese and that the two leaders have agreed to work together to advance relations and strategic partnership.
"Spoke with my friend Anthony Albanese to personally congratulate him on his party’s historic victory," said PM Modi in a post on X.
"We agreed to work together with renewed vigour to advance the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore new areas of cooperation," he further added.
Albanese had a historic win on Saturday in the Australian elections- becoming the first PM to secure a second consecutive three-year term in 21 years.
