NEW DELHI: Union minister Kiren Rijiju shared a lighthearted moment during his visit to the high-altitude region of Lahaul-Spiti , as he sang a song with playback singer Mohit Chauhan and Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut at the scenic Kunzum La Pass , situated nearly 15,000 feet above sea level.
In a video posted on his official X handle, Rijiju wrote, “Near 15,000 feet Kunzum-La Pass. Wah..! Mohit Chauhan ji, Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut ji, MLA of Lahaul-Spiti Anuradha Rana ji, Ex-MLA Ravi Thakur ji & JS Ram Singh ji. Difficult to sing at that high altitude.”
The video captures a cheerful gathering, with Mohit Chauhan singing "Sansar ki har shay ka itna hi fasana hai, ek dhund se aana hai, ek dhund mein jaana hai" — originally rendered by Mahendra Kapoor. The performance was met with applause and smiles from those present.
“Peaceful place and pulchritudinous people!” Rijiju added in a separate post, along with a photo of himself with Chauhan and Kangana, tagging #Lahaul #Spiti #Kaza #HimachalPradesh.
Joining them were local MLA Anuradha Rana and former MLA Ravi Thakur, who also participated in the visit. Rijiju’s Himachal Pradesh tour is part of outreach and engagement efforts in the region, and moments like these have added a cultural and human touch to his itinerary.
