NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav blew the election bugle for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections , promising a government job for at least one member in every household if voted to power.
"Within 20 months (after forming the government), there won't be any house in Bihar that will not have government job. Tejashwi will ensure that every family without a government job gets one," he added.
"I had promised government jobs in the last assembly polls as well. During the brief period I was in power, five lakh jobs were provided. You can imagine what could be possible had I gotten a five-year term," said the opposition leader.
"This time, the people of Bihar want change and want that unemployment be uprooted. Besides social justice, we want to do economic justice too for the people of Bihar," Tejashwi said.
"The NDA could not provide jobs to the youth in 20 years. We will ensure that every household has a person with government job after we come to power. We will make a new Act for it within 20 days of forming government and in 20 months, not a single house will be without a government job," Tejashwi said while addressing a press conference in Patna.VIDEO | Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav (@yadavtejashwi) addresses a press conference, says, "We will ensure that every household with have a person with government job after our government comes to power.
