Delhi Sees Gusty Winds and Cloudy Skies, IMD Predicts No Heatwave Until May 2

Delhi, April 27 — Residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced a sudden shift in weather on Saturday, with strong winds sweeping through various parts of the city and clouds appearing in the skies. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhiites can expect significant relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions over the next few days.

The IMD forecasts that from April 27 to May 2, there will be no heatwave conditions in Delhi. Instead, gusty winds ranging between 15 to 25 kilometers per hour are expected to bring slight respite from the intense summer heat. A gradual dip in temperatures is also predicted over the coming days, although heavy rainfall is unlikely.

Weather Pattern Updates: April 27 to May 2

Meteorologists report that starting April 27, Delhi will witness partial cloud cover and breezy conditions, offering much-needed comfort to the residents. Wind speeds could occasionally reach up to 30 km/h.

Temperature forecasts indicate that on April 27 and 28, Delhi’s maximum temperature will hover between 40°C and 42°C, while minimum temperatures will range from 22°C to 25°C. However, April 28 may not see particularly strong winds compared to other days.

From April 29 to May 2, stronger winds are predicted, with speeds varying between 20 and 30 km/h. During this period, maximum temperatures are expected to moderate slightly to 38°C–40°C, and minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 21°C and 24°C.

No Rain, But Breezy Weather to Dominate NCR

The IMD has clarified that despite the cloudy skies and gusty winds, no major rain events are expected this week across Delhi and NCR. However, the presence of clouds and sustained winds will help in reducing the impact of the extreme summer heat.

Similar weather conditions are forecasted for neighboring NCR cities, maintaining consistent relief from heatwave concerns across the region.

Authorities advise residents to stay hydrated and cautious while outdoors, as strong winds may stir up dust in some areas, even though overall heat levels are expected to be more bearable.
